Episode 3: The Road Beneath the Road Beast Thrones Academy Far beneath the stones, something ancient breathed again. The road west of Ashfall Crossing lifted. Not much. Just enough for every horse to scream. Dust jumped from the ground. Pebbles rattled across the dirt. The old road that led toward Beast Thrones Academy split down the middle, and a thin black line opened between the stones. Kael stood frozen with Umbra wrapped around his shoulders. The tiny beast’s silver eyes shone so bright they reflected in the broken crystal dust around his boots.
