Arise To Your Resting Place (2nd Chronicles 6:41–42)

A contemporary musical setting of the closing sacred poetry in Solomon's temple-dedication prayer, preserved in 2 Chronicles 6:41–42. The English lyrics are freshly rendered from the Hebrew rather than copied word-for-word from a modern English Bible translation. The prayer calls Yahweh God to His resting place, asks that the priests wear deliverance and the faithful rejoice in goodness, then asks God not to turn away His anointed and to remember the faithful love associated with David. The music expands the ancient prayer through repetition, dynamics and composition without inventing additional biblical lyrics. New music. Ancient sacred poetry.
